Garlicky Pizzeria Style Knots

Happy Thursday W+A friends! Tonight we are headed to the city for a tasting and of course New York is still holding on to that winter weather. We were teased with a few nice days last week, which gave us a taste of spring time weather. This week we wanted to use up some of our frozen three ingredient dough. Now that we've tested it out on bagels and pizzas, garlic knots were the next obvious choice. These were so easy to make and we paired them with some zucchini noodles and sauce. They are also a great lunchtime snack, toasted up in the morning with some butter or can be enjoyed with a big salad or soup. Here is everything you'll need to make these garlicky guys:  Ingredients  1 c of self rising flour  1 c of plain nonfat Greek yogurt (drained)  3/4 tsp of salt  2 tsp of baking powder  1 tbsp of olive oil  1 tbsp of butter  2-3 cloves of garlic (chopped) 2 tbsp of grated Parmesan cheese 1 tbsp of fresh or dry parsley (chopped) Directions   Preheat

Slow Cooker Honey Parmesan Pork Roast

We made it to hump day! As I currently sip my coffee this morning, I have a batch of banana coconut chocolate chip energy bites (recipe to come) for a little after dinner or post gym snack baking in the oven. We had a pork loin in the fridge big enough to feed a small country so we decided to cut it and make three separate meals for the week. I typically roast my pork in the oven Cuban style and add some roasted potatoes, but I figured I could set it and forget it with this easy and DELICIOUS recipe below. I'm not embarrassed to admit that John and I pretty much polished off almost the entire pork loin. Here is everything you'll need to make slow cooker honey Parmesan pork roast:  Ingredients 3 to 4 lbs of pork loin roast 2 tbsp dried oregano 2 tbsp dried basil 1/2  tsp black pepper 3/4 tsp salt 2 tbsp garlic, minced 1/2 c honey 2 tbsp olive oil 1/4 c soy sauce 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Directions Place pork loin in slow cooker.  In

Lightened Up Chicken Marsala

Monday is upon on once again friends. We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We spent most of Saturday and Sunday trying out some new restaurants on the island and catching up on some work around the house. If you know us, you know that we cook all week long, preparing lots of breakfast + healthy treats on Sunday to make our week a bit seamless. I love adding new recipes into the weekly dinner rotation so I decided to make a lightened up chicken marsala dish. Its one of our favorite dishes, but can be a bit up there in calories if your ordering it out at your favorite restaurant. So here is our version, just as delicious and flavorful, but without the extra calories + fat. Here's everything you'll need:  Ingredients 2 tsp of olive oil  3 c of fresh mushrooms, sliced  1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken breast 1 tsp dried thyme  1 tsp salt  1 tsp black pepper  1 cup of marsala wine  1 1/4 c of reduced sodium beef broth 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch  2 tbsp of

Air Fryer Wings + Bacon Brussel Sprouts

We love using the air fryer for "frying" up some of our favorite dishes. From chicken parmesan to veggie fries and most recently bagels and empanadas, the options are endless. So we decided to try out wings this time around. It was the perfect meal for some Sunday football enjoyment. We also roasted up some crispy brussel sprouts with bacon and a cranberry balsamic drizzle for a complete meal. Here's everything you'll need for this dish:  Ingredients (for wings) 1 lb of chicken wings or drumsticks  1 c of nonfat greek yogurt  3 tbsp of paprika  1 tbsp of oregano  1 tsp salt  1 tsp pepper  Juice of 1/2 a lemon  1 c of Kentucky Kernel seasoned flour  1 c of hot wing sauce (Frank's or your favorite hot sauce) Directions Mix together yogurt and lemon juice with all seasonings and spoon into a ziplock bag. Add chicken and let marinate for at least 4 hours. In a flat plate evenly spread out your seasoned flour and dredge your wings in b

Protein Sprinkle Donuts + Vanilla Glaze

Ever have FOMO when someone is eating something you really want to indulge in but your trying to be good? It can happen at family gatherings, office parties or when you walk outside of your gym after a great workout and smell bagels from the bagel shop next door. Le sigh, we are guilty of it. But why not be able to enjoy without all of the self loathing? I'll be honest, I saw about five delicious donut posts this morning on Instagram and I instantly was craving a sugary treat. We recently bought a donut pan and I've been wanting to try it out and see what we could create. So, we made some protein donuts! Here's what you'll need:  Ingredients (yields 6 donuts) 2 c of Kodiak Cakes mix 1/2 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1/3 cup water 1 egg 3 tbsp of sweetener of choice (we used Stevia) 1 tsp vanilla extract The Glaze  1/2 c of confectioner sugar 1 tsp of vanilla  1/3 c of unsweetened vanilla almond milk  Sprinkles for topping  Di

Simple + Easy Blueberry Muffins

Happy Thursday W+A friends! We've been busy in the kitchen lately testing out some easy and healthy recipes for you all. John and I love sweets, but we try extra hard not to indulge during the week. For us to be successful prepping is a must. Usually on Sundays we like to make a healthy treat that we can enjoy either for breakfast, during that 3 p.m. slump or for dessert. If you've been following the blog for a bit you'll know we love making our easy pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, but this morning I decided to use what we had in the cupboards and fridge. I had some fresh blueberries, which we love adding to smoothies and yogurt, but muffins just seemed like the next best thing. Each muffin is around 70 calories so completely guiltless, but so delicious! Here's everything you'll need to yield 24 regular sized muffins. Ingredients (yields 24 muffins) 1 box of sugar free cake mix (we used Pillsbury  Sugar Free Yellow Cake) 1/2 c of unsweetened apple sauce

Guiltless Two Ingredient Pizza Dough

If you haven't noticed all the rage yet over the healthy two ingredient dough, you probably are living under a rock! Earlier this week we used the easy dough recipe to make delicious everything bagels, and let us tell you they were EVERYTHING. The dough appeared to be super versatile and the consistency was really nice. We decided to try it out as pizza dough and the results were impressive. Mix your dough the same as you would for your bagels, but double the ingredients.  Ingredients (yields two personal sized pizzas) 1 c of self rising flour (we used Pilsbury) 1 c of nonfat Greek yogurt pinch of salt  olive oil  1/4 c of mozzarella cheese  oregano garlic powder  (whatever other toppings you'd like) Directions  Mix together 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of nonfat yogurt in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt to mixture. The dough will be a bit crumbly until you knead it. Add flour to your surface and hands and knead into a ball, dividing into two pieces.

Healthy Everything Bagels + Sunday Prep

Happy Sunday W+A friends! It was a frigid weekend filled with freezing temps, but overall we had a great few days (including snow days) to relax and get some food shopping done. I've been saving a few recipes up for some weekend trial and error attempts, but we tried our hands at some healthy everything bagels and they came out SO good! I know you see a lot of our indulgent eats on Whiskey + Aprons  Instagram and Facebook pages, but believe it or not John and I eat very healthy during the week and save our splurges for the weekend. Sunday mornings call for bagels so we figured we'd attempt to whip up a guilt free version right in our very own kitchen. The recipe calls for only five ingredients and was super easy. Here's everything you'll need for the bagels. Ingredients (yields two bagels) 1/2 c of self rising flour (we used Pilsbury) 1/2 c of nonfat greek yogurt (drained)  2 tbsp of Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (or whatever topping
