If you haven't noticed all the rage yet over the healthy two ingredient dough, you probably are living under a rock! Earlier this week we used the easy dough recipe to make delicious everything bagels, and let us tell you they were EVERYTHING. The dough appeared to be super versatile and the consistency was really nice. We decided to try it out as pizza dough and the results were impressive. Mix your dough the same as you would for your bagels, but double the ingredients.
Ingredients (yields two personal sized pizzas)
1 c of self rising flour (we used Pilsbury)
1 c of nonfat Greek yogurt
pinch of salt
olive oil
1/4 c of mozzarella cheese
oregano
garlic powder
(whatever other toppings you'd like)
Directions
Mix together 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of nonfat yogurt in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt to mixture. The dough will be a bit crumbly until you knead it. Add flour to your surface and hands and knead into a ball, dividing into two pieces. Roll each into a ball and make sure your hands are well floured. Using a pizza stone or circular non-stick pan, spray with nonstick spray and roll your dough out with your hands or rolling pin. I prefer using my hands to help form the shape and create a crust. Once your dough is on the stone or in the pan, preheat oven to 425 on bake. With a brush, top the dough with olive oil and garlic powder. If you are using marinara sauce add and then top with cheese. Bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and crust is browned. Let cool and cut into slices.
White broccoli slice, anyone?
It even folds perfectly
We'd love to try our hand at a few other recipes using this simple dough. We even came across apple + cinnamon empanadas, garlic naan and cheesy cheddar biscuits. It will definitely be fun to explore what other tasty treats we can whip up using this easy recipe! Let us know if you guys have tried it out and what you are thinking you'll make with it.
