Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

Its almost the weekend, readers! And this blog post is brought to you by Friday's Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Beiber playlist. If you wake up not really feeling life, I am telling you its an instant mood adjuster. Find me on Spotify ;) Its a packed weekend of fun stuff and I'm excited to kick it off tonight. Last night my brother and sister-in-law came for a nice visit and we had a fun night of hanging, dinner and homemade ice cream from a local sweet shop. Speaking of sweets I had the urge to whip up some 21 day fix peanut butter protein cookies yesterday and since I had all of the ingredients handy it was extra quick and simple.

Start by preheating your oven on 350 degrees and spray a cookie sheet with nonstick spray. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of all natural peanut butter, 4 tbsp of protein powder (I used 1 vanilla shakeology packet which equaled 4 tbsps), 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 egg. Mix all together in a bowl to form a dough like below.

Roll your dough into about 1-inch balls. The batter is just enough for eight large cookies. Place your dough balls onto your baking sheet and then flatten with a fork.
Place your baking sheet in the oven once done heating and bake your cookies for 10 minutes, no longer. Once finished, let cool for about 10 more minutes. They should be a little soft at first, but they will harden shortly. Remove from the baking sheet and serve :) These were SO good and completely guilt-free. They give you that little pop of energy and are a great pre-gym or post-gym snack.
A little obsessed with my Martha Stewart cake stand. I love having some type of treat inside at all times.
I know I have mentioned our killer porch sunsets we get the pleasure of viewing every night. Here's another from one of the many sunny evenings this week. No filter needed. The sun lit up pink :)

As I was tidying up the bathroom the other morning it hit me that I have a lot of everyday products that I use. Below are just the products I use on a daily basis for my hair and skincare. Everything else is hidden below the sink. Kinda of crazy, but some of these products I would die without. Almost turning the big 3-0 soon skincare has become essential as well as caring for these locks, so when it comes to buying products that work amazingly I go all out. I've posted Too Faced Hangover Face Primer once before, but I SWEAR by this stuff. I use it more as a moisturizer, but the ingredients include coconut water and tons of skin reviving ingredients. It also smells like a day at the beach and I can't get enough of it. The tube retails for $32, but a little bit really goes a long way. Another product I am obsessed with these days are Miss Jessie's Leave-In-Condish. Now with the warmer weather approaching, I haven't been too excited to break out the blow dryer. A quarter size of some Leave-In-Condish on your damp hair and a quick scrunch gives you that beachy tousled hair look in seconds and its super nourishing too. This huge bottle only retails for $11. Its a steal! Another obsession is Benefits' Its Potent! eye cream. I used this stuff every day before my wedding to keep my dark circles under control. I apply once in the morning and once at night and again, a little goes a long way. This retails for $34.

Moroccan Argan Oil's Renewing Weightless Healing Dry Oil is another live saver. I love to spray this in my hair right after a shower. It keeps your hair shiny and doesn't leave an oily feeling after. It hydrates your hair and locks in a ton of moisture without making your hair feel like a heavy weight. The small bottle retails for $8. Next up is Elf's Makeup Mist and Finishing Spray. I used to take minimal time to apply makeup, but now that I know to use better products, I like to take my time applying them and making sure its perfect. Its also so much fun to put on makeup and play around with colors and textures. Since I now dedicate some time to my beauty regime, I love to lock and load my look with this spray. It locks in your makeup and keeps it from looking cakey. Love, love this and retails for only $3! And last but not least, Bio Oil. I use this all over. Its great for hydrating skin, healing scars, uneven skin tones, aging skin, honestly it does it all. The small bottle retails for $12 and the larger for $25. The list goes on, but I figured I'd share some from my everyday use.

I hope you all have a fun weekend planned or at lest a relaxing one. Be back this week with some new recipes. Food shopping will be happening once I have a chance to breathe this weekend! xo

Almond Poppy Seed + Lemon Loaf

Happy Spring? Yes,  the question mark is needed since we had snow on Long Island today and its April second! I'd say about six inches total, but we were happy to see the sun appear and melt some of it away. We started on some yard work this week and were getting the itch to start doing some planting, but luckily we held out for now. Snow days are always the best days to test out a new recipe and typically we like to try our hands at baking on these chilly days. We just received some of Kodiak Cake's  new Almond Poppy Seed Power Cakes Flapjack + Waffle mix. We decided to use this delicious mix for some baking and the results turned out absolutely delicious. Here's everything you will need:  Ingredients 3 cups of Kodiak Mix  1/2 cup of nonfat Greek yogurt 1 tsp vanilla extract  1 tsp of baking powder  3 eggs, beaten  4 tbsp of unsalted butter, softened  1/3 cup of brown sugar  3/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk  3 tbsp of lemon zest  1/8 cup

Lemon Butter Parmesan Pasta

What's better than some comfort food on a chilly day? We love making this simple pasta recipe that uses just a few ingredients, but also packs a lot of flavor and is guaranteed to leave you with a full belly. If you haven't tried BANZA before, definitely give it a shot. Its one of our favorite must-haves in the cupboard and packs lots of protein and flavor. You can find the brand at your local supermarkets and even Target. But, if you prefer to use something on hand, go ahead and dabble with whatever pasta you'd like! Here's everything you will need for this Lemon Butter & Parmesan Pasta: Servings:  For  2 Ingredients 1 box of your favorite Banza pasta (or whatever you have on hand!
